What are your goals in your field of study and after graduation? Why do you deserve this scholarship?
Everyone has progressed to where they are in life because they had a teacher. A teacher is defined as someone who gives instruction and communicates skills. Our children are our future, and they need to be prepared for the future or they will not be successful in the working world. Teaching makes a difference in them because it gives them tools to help them be successful in the future. Throughout my life, I had been seen people with special needs somewhere, sometime, either at school or walking down to the sidewalk. When I see them, I think, who helps them? Who is the one that looks after them during the day? I want to be that person. My goal is to become a special education teacher. I want to learn about teaching and the people. I feel that the special education kids seem to be more genuine than people who have no disabilities. I want to educate them.
The grade level does not matter or age. I want to spend my workday helping them and making their day better than how it started. It may be difficult spend my workday helping them and making their day better than how it started. It may be difficult at first but I think it will have the privilege to make a difference with all children who need help to improve their lives.I would like to tell you why I would like to become a special education teacher and what has led me to this decision and why I want to become a teacher. Each day in the United States millions of children go off to school; all with different strengths and weaknesses, abilities and disabilities. Millions of these children have been identified as having a specific disability such as autism, mental retardation, or learning disability that necessitates some type of special instruction. I think in order to address the special needs of these children; schools rely upon people who have been specially trained to help them- special education teachers. In the daily lives of children and youth with disabilities, and in their long-term achievements in learning, special educators play a vital and indispensable role. I enjoy care about children and I have the desire and dedication to helping each child reach their full potential.
My objectives for returning to school after 16 years are to fulfill my personal goals by increasing my knowledge and gaining skills to become a teacher. I think it is never too late to get our dreams. I know it can be hard because I have a family, but I know if we set out to get something we will get it. My decision to do this was based on the needs of my family and kids. I have three kids with ADHD. Through this special education, it can help me distinguish why they had this illness and how it can affect their studies. I want to give my children something safe to support them in the future. In the future, I would like to support my husband at home.
Moreover, I want to help those children who have skills but have difficulty in developing it because of their disability. I take up special education because I want to know more about the different disabilities and educate the people in dealing with them. I want to become a teacher in special education because I want to help children with special needs we must help them to learn because I can make children smile and laugh and I want them to consider their self as a normal like children who can play and mingle to other children and go to the school. I am perusing to become a teacher in special education because I want to educate those students with special needs. I want to understand why they are acting that way. Unlike any other normal children, they need more love and affection. I believe I deserve a scholarship because I am very hardworking and dedicated to my goals. This scholarship it will help me reach my big goal “be a teacher”. It takes extraordinary and dedicated individuals to work in special education.
The main goal in my field of study as a teacher on special education is to have a positive impact and to make a difference in the lives of children with disabilities. I believe successful teachers not only need a high level of knowledge and skill but most importantly have the desire and determination to persevere in a challenging position. I think teachers must help children acquire skills they need to succeed academically and socially but also have confidence in their ability to learn. My personal academic goal as a special education teacher is to be the best I can be for myself and my students. I will pursue this by working to further my teaching skills thru academic training and applying teaching strategies that are found to be best practice in both researches and in practice.
My teaching skills will be honed and refined thru practice over time. Continual assessment of both my students and my teaching practices will further improve my ability to help children. Education to me is extremely important especially through the times we are all going through. It will enable so many more doors to be opened once I graduate from college. Most of our knowledge is acquired from on the job experience, but college is the true foundation, and without that education, my job would not be within reach. This scholarship will be able to help me have that job that I love, earn a high salary to support my family, and obtain many comforts that others do not have with only a high school diploma. I want to share my knowledge and success with others later on what would like to do just the same.
